Is Mundan compulsory for every child?
Those who follow the Hindu faith perform the Mundan Sanskar for their children. It is believed in Hinduism that shaving a child's first hair frees them from the impurities and negativities of this life and their past lives. Traditionally, every family performed the Mundan Sanskar; however, with the rise of the nuclear family culture, this Sanskar is now becoming less common.
