What is the best day to perform Pind Daan?
Any day during Pitra Paksha is ideal for performing Pind Daan. Pitra Paksha is a fifteen-day auspicious period when it is believed that our ancestors visit the earthly realm from Pitra Lok. If this period is missed or the family wishes to perform Pind Daan in another month, a few dates can be selected based on the Hindu calendar. Amavasya Tithi, Panchami Tithi, and Astami Tithi are important dates for performing Pind Daan according to the Hindu calendar. Most importantly, Pind Daan is an act of paying homage to our ancestors; therefore, it can be performed on any date and at any time with pure intention and deep devotion to the ancestors.
