The eldest male member of the family can offer Pind Daan in Gaya. If the eldest member is absent for any reason, the younger ones can also provide Pind Daan.
If male members are not present, then daughters are also allowed to offer Pind Daan to their ancestors. A married daughter is eligible to offer Pind Daan to parents from both the maternal and paternal sides.
The husband of the married daughter can also offer Pind Daan after receiving permission from his wife.
The family can also allow any close relative or someone outside the bloodline to perform the rites.
In some cases, the Pandit performing the Pind Daan rites can also offer Pind Daan on behalf of the family.
