Who can do Pind daan in Varanasi?
The eldest male member of the family can offer Pind Daan in Varanasi. If the eldest member is absent for any reason, the younger ones can also provide Pind Daan.
If male members are absent, daughters may also offer Pind Daan to their ancestors. A married daughter is eligible to offer Pind Daan to parents from both the maternal and paternal sides.
The husband of a married daughtercan also offer Pind Daan after obtaining his wife's permission.
The family can also allow any close relative or someone outside the bloodline to perform the rites.
In some cases, the Pandit performing the Pind Daan rites can also offer Pind Daan on behalf of the family.
